## Lifelike Companion Robots Started Arriving In Chinese Homes Yesterday

UBTech delivered its first UWorld U1 humanoids to Chinese homes yesterday. These aren't chore robots. UBTech sells them as company, only to adults.

Prices run from 119,800 yuan, about $17,000, up to 990,000 yuan for the top model. Each one has 88 joints and a face built to hold eye contact. More than 13,300 people paid deposits before the first unit shipped.

Early buyers say the real thing doesn't match the promotional renders, and the expressions still read as mechanical. UBTech isn't showing a demo anymore. It's shipping a product, and customers decide whether the uncanny valley is worth the price.

#### Your AI Agent Can Now Run Your House

Google opened early access to Home MCP yesterday. Any agent that speaks Model Context Protocol can read your smart home and control it. Google named Claude, Antigravity, Hermes and OpenClaw as examples.

Agents can check event history, summarize camera footage across rooms, and switch Nest and Matter devices on and off. It needs Google Home Premium Advanced at $20 a month, plus a Google Cloud project.

Google just handed rival AI companies the keys to its home ecosystem. If you build agents, your product surface got a lot bigger overnight.

#### OpenAI Wants To Raise At $1.5 Trillion And Skip The IPO

OpenAI is weighing a new funding round at up to $1.5 trillion, per reports yesterday. Investors came in at $1.2 trillion. OpenAI pushed for more.

Sam Altman said a 2026 listing would be ill-advised. The company now points to 2027\. It reported more than $40 billion in annualized revenue last month, about double where it ended last year. Rival Anthropic is being priced above $2 trillion ahead of an expected October IPO filing.

Private money lets OpenAI skip public scrutiny. Every quarter it stays private, nobody outside audits the numbers behind that valuation.

#### Amazon Just Bought The Right To Own Part Of Its Generator Supplier

Generac handed Amazon a warrant for up to 1.69 million shares at $200.93 each, worth roughly $340 million. In exchange, Amazon buys backup generators for its data centers.

The warrant vests as Amazon pays, up to $8 billion in total. The first $2.4 billion of generators lands in 2027 and 2028\. Generac stock jumped more than 30% on the news.

AI data centers can't wait years for grid hookups, so they buy their own power. Amazon didn't just sign a supply contract. It took a stake in its supplier.

#### Attackers Are Forging Admin Tokens For WSO2 API Gateways

A flaw in WSO2 API Manager lets someone sign a JSON Web Token with an unsupported algorithm and walk past authentication. It scores 9.8 out of 10 on severity.

Security firm watchTowr caught forged admin tokens in its honeypots on September 13\. One token opened every API backend, plus credentials and secrets for registered apps.

WSO2 has shipped a patch. API Manager, API Control Plane, Traffic Manager and Universal Gateway are all affected. Check your version today.

#### SpaceX Flew Its Second Classified Space Force Mission In A Week

A Falcon 9 lifted off from Vandenberg last night carrying USSF-259, a classified payload for the US Space Force. The booster landed on the droneship eight and a half minutes later, on its 13th flight.

Tuesday's attempt got scrubbed before fueling. It came three days after Falcon's 700th mission, which finished the O3b mPOWER constellation for SES.

Watch the ascent and the landing. A decade ago, flying classified payloads on used boosters was unthinkable. Now it's a Wednesday.
